The bedroom-desk is a smaller version of a dining table I built a few months ago. I liked it so well, that I decided to shrink it down and build this project.

Construction of the table top is fairly straight forward. I am going to build an outer frame from 3" wide mahogany. A rabbet will be cut around the interior of the frame to set the table top into. After the interior of the table is secured, using a router, I will rout a 1/4" wide by 1/8" deep groove around the table to place a band of purple heart.

The legs will require 6 bent laminations. Putting the leg assembly together will be done using floating tenons. This means there will be a lot of mortises. To make the job easier I built a jig that will allow cutting the mortises quick and easy. Once the bent laminations are complete and cleaned up, I will have to use a couple jigs I built to make sure that when I glue the bent lamination to the center upright, you will not be able to see a seam.
