In this episode the rabbet cutting router bit was introduced..

This router bit set can be used to cut a rabbet any where from 1/8" to 3/8" deep in seven step increments.

The first decision to be made was what depth rabbet we needed. I chose to create a 3/8" rabbet, 3/4 " high. Select the proper bearing and install it onto the router bit. This router kit includes 3 different screw lengths to choose from depending on which bearing is selected.

Install the router bit and set its depth so that the router bit barely extends above the router table. The will allow you to make the first cut without causing any chipping. After completing this cut on all parts, increase the cutting height to about 1/4" for the next pass. Continue is this manner until the proper height is reached.
